  3. What organizations is St. John / Bevis Athletic Association (SJBAA) affiliated with?
  4. SJBAA administers sports and is affiliated with the following organizations:

  5. What is the difference between St. John Athletic Association and St. John CYO?
  6. St. John / Bevis Athletic Association (SJBAA)is a non-demoninational organization that serves the Bevis area. Anyone living in the Bevis area may play for a team sponsored by SJBAA. SJBAA is not directly affiliated with St. John the Baptist Church/School. SJBAA does share fields and facilities with the Church/School. However, in the event of a conflict, the Church/School always has priority.

  7. Do I need to be a member of St. John Parish or attend the school to play sports for SJBAA?
  8. You do not need to be a member of St. John's Parish or live in the Bevis area to sign up your son or daughter for a sport.

  9. Should I consider playing my son or daughter up?
  10. SJAA discourages parents from playing their son or daughter up. In fact, it is against our team formation policy and will only be permitted in special curcumstances.

  11. Why do I need to "volunteer" to work in the concession stand? Doesn't my registration fee pay for everything?
  12. No. SJBAA is a volunteer organization. By signing up your son or daughter for a sport, you are volunteering a small part of your time to help SJBAA effectively run that sport. Parents maybe asked to work at:

    • a 2 hour shift in the concession stand
    • field maintenance

SJBAA uses volunteers to keep registration costs to a minimum.

  13. What do I need to do if I would like to volunteer to be a coach of a team?
  14. If you would like to coach or be an assistant coach for a team administered by SJBAA:

    • You must watch the Archdiocese of Cincinnati video on child abuse
    • You must submit yourself to a background check
    • You are strongly encourage to be an active member in SJBAA by attending meetings held the third Thursday of each month
